Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake was an American actress that appeared in several movies and TV series. Her most famous role was that of her character, Miss Kitty Russell on the TV show 'Gunsmoke.' Additionally, she has appeared in dramas on television like "The Red Skelton Show", "Tattletales" and "The Edge of Night". In addition to dozens of films, she's also been featured in several TV shows, such as Stars In My Crown, Duchess of Idaho, ?Cattle Town ?, ?Miss Robin Crusoe $1, "About Mrs. Leslie ? The le de Paris, The Adventures of Hajjibaba?, a?High Society Blake is a former phone operator as well as a passionate animal lover was devoted to animals. Her husband Frank Gilbert and she were among the first people to successfully breed Cheetahs. She was one of co-founders along with Frank Gilbert, her husband of the Arizona Animal Welfare League. While she was a board member of the Humane Society of the United States Blake has a long and rich history. Blake was awarded numerous awards which include being inducted into Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. It was also the American Cancer Society also gave her the Courage Award.
